A note from the CEO

We appreciate every one of you and hope this is a positive experience for you through your employment journey.A big thank you to those staff members who picked up shifts they were not down as available for. Amazing work by all. “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” — Maya AngelouThis was a very important quote for me in firstcall HEALTHs very early stages of success and I always find a way to reconnect to it. I set out to build a brand people are proud to be a part of and I hope you all being a part of that success makes you feel just as proud as I am to have quality staff who believe in what firstcall HEALTH is all about.

Ange – CEO

SOME VERY EXCITING NEWS!!!

On a very exciting note, we are expanding into significantly new areas.  Specifically in all aged care and residential care, Private Hospitals, Home & Community care, and NDIS-funded clients across VIC including rural and some remote areas. This has always been a big focus and direction for firstcall HEALTH, and we are thrilled to expand on the services we provide and areas of growth to offer our staff. We hope everyone is open to being a positive part of this growth. Please keep in mind that when accepting any pre-bookings and there is no allocation on the day, we do our very best to source an additional shift for you so please try to be as flexible as possible, particularly in the area of private and aged care. Please keep your availability as accurate as possible. We do not have the ability to wait on people to return our calls or texts. It does become whoever responds quickly, particularly if we are dealing with an ASAP request.  Should you wish to be penciled into a shift and know you will be unavailable for some hours, we are more than happy to do this to secure the shift for you provided you have communicated that information to us. Your preferences are of the highest priority to us, but we are also working under a 15-minute turnaround time on all shift requests therefore we must adhere to this as best as we can.We are still having staff arrive late to their shifts without phoning.  Please ensure you are calling the 1300984400 number only for ALL matters.  The payroll mobile or any on-call mobiles are not to be used for you to phone in or contact an allocations staff member. The main number is always attended to by the appropriate allocations staff member on that particular day therefore you will receive a response. When you complete your timesheet for payroll processing, please make sure you are writing NB on your timesheet if you do not get to take a break and that this is signed by the most senior staff member you worked with on your shift. If you do not have this on your timesheet, the client can refuse to accept that you did not take a break and an automatic 30mins will be deducted for any shift exceeding 4 hours. Also, the payroll number for sending timesheets is 0417748237 or you can email your timesheets to payroll @ firstcallhealth.com.au. You can find additional information in your induction paperwork at the point of onboarding.

FILES UPDATES & MANDATORY PAPERWORK – General Reminder

If you have any personal information about your employment file that you require updating, can you please email this to admin@firstcallhealth.com.au? We need to ensure this is updated ASAP or passed on to the most appropriate person therefore, we need any changes to be sent in writing. You can also send these through via the app using the web note function if you prefer.

We have a team of staff working on ensuring everyone’s files are kept up to date. You may receive notifications from these team members advising you to update mandatory competencies online via Qintil, and provide us with police checks, WWCC, NDIS worker screening checks, and flu vaccine information.  If you have already provided these and we are yet to update them online, this could be why you are receiving a reminder, so we apologise for this. If you don’t have access to Qintil please email admin@firstcallhealth.com.au asking for your login information because you will then be able to see which education competencies we require updating. You may be wondering why we are asking for an NDIS worker clearance, some of our clients (aged care and residential care facilities) have NDIS-funded residents on-site; therefore, these homes must complete these screening checks. Remember that a police check is not required if you have the NDIS Worker Screening Check however, a WWCC is.

If your app is working and you have access to it, you can also view ALL outstanding documentation and checks via the web-based part of the app. Click on Venus Connect (login details will need to be entered, this then takes you to the web-based section of the app currently working). You will then be able to view your profile in this section. Click on Checks, which will take you to ALL we can view on your file. The expired checks will be red with the date of expiration. If you need clarification on where this is or how to see it, please email or give the agency a call and we can talk you through it.

NDIS, DISABILITY SUPPORT, HOME & COMMUNITY CARE

We are excited to share that we are growing a client base in NDIS, Disability Support, and Home and Community Care. This has always been a growth area for firstcall HEALTH. However, we are now actively seeking clients and staff with the experience to work in these areas. If you have a qualification in this area and we have yet to be told or have this information on file, please let us know, as we will be expanding across all areas of VIC in this space. Please stay tuned for more updates on this.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE APPWe are still working closely with our web developers on this but just another reminderAs some of you know, we have been experiencing many issues on the new firstcall HEALTH app. These have been raised with our app developers, and we are working tirelessly to develop a better solution to the problem. We will need to move to a web-based app instead of the version we are currently working with to mitigate these issues from occurring or resurfacing. The unfortunate part of this solution is this could take a couple of months to change and we are going to ask for some patience during this time to allow us to develop a better solution to the problem. Our team members are working on this and will provide you with another option to avoid missing out on shift offers etc. We understand it is frustrating however, please know it is our priority, and we will be sorting it out.

In the meantime, we do ask if you have the app downloaded please opt to use the web note options as this most definitely works. We are also looking into what options we have to utilize the newly revamped website designed for firstcall HEALTH and will communicate this as soon as we know of any further developments.
