IMPORTANT UPDATE: Victoria’s lockdown will be extended for 7 days until 11.59pm on Tuesday 27 July.
We acknowledge the additional pain and hurt this will cause for so many people and are are so very sorry for that.
But we have to do this. It’s based on the Chief Health Officer’s advice around current levels of local transmission in Victoria, and the very unstable situation in NSW.
There were 13 local cases over the last 24 hours. In good news, nine of these 13 were in isolation for 100% of their infectious period.
All travel into Victoria from NSW will be paused, with limited exemptions only and for compassionate reasons only.
There are still only five reasons to leave home: shopping for essentials, exercise, medical & caregiving, authorised work, and getting your vaccination.
Exercise and shopping limited to 5km radius from home.
Facemasks must be worn indoors and outdoors.
There will be some changes to authorised workers to include:
– services that operate solely outdoors
– mobile pet grooming services
– pamphlet delivery services
SCHOOLS will continue with remote learning, except for some students with a disability. These students will be able to return to on-site learning from tomorrow (Wed, 21 July) where a parent or carer indicates that a student with a disability cannot learn from home due to vulnerability or family stress. This change will apply to students enrolled in specialist schools and students with a disability enrolled in mainstream schools.
