VACCINATION UPDATES

As you are all aware, if by now we have not received your vaccination details we are unable to keep you in our active system and have been placed on hold. Unless you advise us otherwise, you will remain on hold until you have made contact with the agency to discuss your situation and circumstances so please do make contact with us so we are aware of what your currently going through and where you are at.

The Victorian Government have announced Public Health orders which include mandatory vaccination directions for residential, in-home and healthcare workers. Under these directions, employees who work in these areas must not continue working unless they have met the following applicable state deadlines

  • Oct 22 – Atleast one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine (extended for some industries but most healthcare workers and residential aged care workers actually required this by the 17th Sept 2021
  • Nov 26 – At least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine

Please see below for full Directions from CHO as these have changed from previous date advice

At firstcall HEALTH, we are following all the DHHS and CHO guidelines and requirements. We have changed some of the way we operate to ensure we are in line with these changes so we do ask that if you are attending the office you have contacted us ahead of time, please ensure you wear a mask, please follow the check in guidelines upon arrival and at all times please ensure you are sticking to your allocated time of appointment made.

As you may be aware, some clients now require us to provide them with copies of your digital certificates to evidence your vaccination status. This is a directive that is to ensure that health services states are in line with their compliance requirements.  If you have any concerns with your copies of your digital certificate to evidence vaccination being passed on then please email admin@firstcallhealth.com.au. Most facilities are now asking that we provide these details to them ahead of time however you are still required to ensure that you are keeping a copy on your phone through the services victoria or express medicare app or that you have a laminated copy with you at every shift.  If you have any concerns with any of this information please feel free to contact us or you can find more information on how to do this at Check in with QR codes using the Service Victoria app | Coronavirus Victoria

Please follow all site obligations upon arrival relating to screening or any other requirements of check in.  Each site has a distinct reason for asking for staff to check in the way they do and this may be specifically focused around them needing to re

Restrictions Easing, an Agency reminder though …..

We are thrilled there are some easing of restrictions going on, this should allow us all to start feeling some sort of normal again.  However, what we have found over the last few months is that due to a number of restrictions at some work places this has meant that some staff are not getting back to us or are just not comfortable working at the moment.  We are completely understanding of this situation a number of you find yourselves in but can we also remind you that being booked in advance particularly when working for an agency is a privilege.  Most sites don’t do it because agency is a cost to any business and they will usually only book on the day.

Can we please ask that if you are being given the option to pick up shifts in advance or even on the day that you please try your best to honor that shift and not cancel unless of course there is an emergency situation and this can’t be helped.  We are finding there are more and more people cancelling themselves out of shifts and not even giving the agency a reason.  Over time these clients will not book you if they see this happening as a bit of a pattern and we do not want to be needing to say to you we don’t have work available.  Sometimes the clients also cancel and this can be frustrating particularly when you have organized yourselves to be working however, this is completely out of our control so please try to be understanding to the allocators when dealing with them as they are not the ones who are cancelling you.

We are working tirelessly to make our processes at firstcall HEALTH much more efficient so please try to respond to us as promptly as possible particularly when we are following up on paperwork or compliance documents needing updating.

A very big thank you to all of you for your ongoing support and commitment to firstcall HEALTH, without you all we wouldn’t be nearly as successful as we are in providing the services we do.

Stay safe everyone – firstcall HEALTH team xx
